Why Ladies Should Say Yes! to Trading – IG Trading Final Review

The New Savvy (TNS): In your own opinion, what is the difference between trading and investing?

Yasmine: The difference to me between trading and investing is that investing is looking for more of a long-term commitment whereas trading requires a continuous and diligent following of the markets.

I personally believe that with trading, attaining your financial goals will be a journey that you will never forget.

The New Savvy (TNS): How does your portfolio fare to-date?

Yasmine: My portfolio is down by 4%, but this could be due to the markets which are currently down. As an investor, the markets are unpredictable, however, I was able to expect the decrease in my portfolio.

I am not stubbed by that because I am looking at companies that have long-term potential. So before I put my money in anything, I make sure to do my research and analyse the companies deliberately.

Besides, now I have the IG demo account to test out anything while never worrying about my losses!

The New Savvy (TNS): Any tips for people who are keen to start out trading for the first time?

Yasmine: I think that if you do not really know much about trading or have a background in finance. A safe way to ease into the world of trading is to trade into ETFs – Exchange Traded Funds where they track the performance of other investment instruments as well as indices such as S&P 500 or Straits Times Index (STI).

I believe that ETFs and Indices reflect the whole market and its current overall situation.

The New Savvy (TNS): CFDs can be quite risky, were you able to mitigate your losses?

They are risky but the key is to be able to understand the product and manage the risks. I am currently exploring my options on the IG platform as it offers a unique feature called guaranteed stops which will always close out at exactly the price you specified so you mitigate your losses.

The New Savvy (TNS): Any key takeaways from using the IG trading platform?

Yasmine: As mentioned in the previous review, I like how it’s similar to having a massive Google search engine but with lots of tabs in the same category. Additionally, I also like the pop up of market information which I find to be very interesting.

The New Savvy (TNS): What do you think you have gained from using the platform?

Yasmine: I was able to expand my knowledge on the various investment products available in the market; Learning more about those that I already knew and discovering products I never even heard of. I have been trading for a while but trying out the IG platform has offered me something new for a change.

IG’s education modules from their dedicated education page called IG Academy are also very helpful in giving me useful insights into the market which helps me decide on how I trade.

The New Savvy (TNS): Would you recommend using the IG Asia to your friends and family? Why or why not?

Yasmine: Yes, I would recommend it to my friends who are keen to try out trading for the first time.
