There’s an app for everything, including all your money needs. With the help of apps, investing, budgeting, shopping, car maintenance and condo buying can all be performed more efficiently. Now that smartphones act as virtual wallets, almost all your money management functions can be integrated and operated from your mobile device.

These are the apps making you better savers and investors.

SGX Mobile App – SGX Mobile is the favoured app for market data and news on the Singapore Exchange. Monitor price changes and receive alerts on company news. StockTracker provides real-time stock and forex data on all the major exchanges, as well as currencies, futures and commodities. This fully featured app includes portfolio monitoring, watch lists, real-time alerts, interactive charts and technical indicators.

AXS Payment –  AXS Payment was a popular kiosk payment service before going virtual. The virtual payment system accepts utility, credit card, loan, insurance, condo, and healthcare payments, as well as parking fees and fines. Top ups can also be done online.  Alipay is Asia’s most popular third-party online payment platform. In 2012, it facilitated $660 billion in transactions. Like Paypal – the other big online payments player in Asia – it facilitates escrow payments between buyers and sellers of online transactions.  Alipay and PayPal have adopted e-wallet platforms to facilitate in-store purchases.

Bloomberg Business – Singaporeans like to get their business and investment news from Bloomberg Business. Bloomberg Professional provides access to real-time market data, news and quotes. Biometric authentification is required to sign in.   CNBC Business and Finance News is also popular.

Pocket Expense Personal Finance –  Singaporeans’ love of personal finance apps may explain why they are some of the most proactive savers. Pocket Expense is a popular way to track expenses and manage budgets. Expenses, checking and savings accounts, and credit cards are tracked through an intuitive interface. Charts provide a visual snapshot of your financial status. Spending, the most popular paid app, makes it easy to track budgets across time periods, carry over expenses and move back and forth across time periods. It supports multiple accounts, exporting to spreadsheets, and reports. iXpeneseIt, HomeBudget, MoneyBook and Money Journal Lite are other well-liked personal finance apps.

Renko Charts provides stock market and forex data feeds. Tradehero, developed by Singapore-based MyHero, has become a top global finance app. The virtual trading tool gamifies trading, providing virtual cash and leaderboards to track successful traders. This interactive trading education tool allows traders to follow their heroes and learn their strategies.

iCurrencyPad provides more than a currency conversion function. It also provides real-time and historical currency prices. Other popular financial tools include EZ Financial Calculators, which do all the calculations you will ever need – currency, loan, compound interest, tips, auto loans, retirement 401k, and so on.

SG Condo Buyers – This toolkit is a top 5 Singapore app. All the calculations you need to make to ensure you shop prudently in the Singapore condo market are provided for both local and foreign owners.

Many apps want to help you save money. Price Panda helps South East Asian shoppers compare prices across 50,000 products and 500 stores.  For fuel economy, Gas Cubby tracks gas mileage and keeps you on top of maintenance such as alerting you when it is time for an oil change.
