You may not think much of it; however, if you would think about it, it makes sense to say that how you spend your mornings’ impact not only the rest of your day but also your everyday life. Just imagine having a bad encounter before getting to work; would it not affect your mood throughout the day?

Having considered this, it is not anymore surprising that successful women have made an effort to create morning rituals or routines that can induce productivity and positivity the whole day. If you have not yet fashioned your own, let our list of morning routines of successful women help you get started.

  1. Revived and Ready: Morning Routines of Successful WomenYoga and meditate.

Start the day by calming and relaxing your mind & body. Remember, the state of mind that you start with is carried out pretty much throughout your day. Avoid starting your day on a bad note, and practising yoga and meditate can aid you in doing so.

Meditation helps us calm our minds, and when we are relaxed, it is easier to let ideas flow, to think straight, and to do your work. Starting a work day with a yoga helps in relaxation as well, especially by soothing those nerves and muscles that might have gotten tired due to your stress and hard work.

  1. Think of a “work plan” of the day.

It is no secret that being more organized results in productivity. That is why, it is impactful on your productivity for the day to plan out your tasks, to-do’s, and appointments at the beginning of the day. Doing this also helps you to take note of those mini tasks we easily overlook. If you are having a hard time remembering by just noting your work plan mentally, we suggest that you write it down. This might be a good use for that planner you got from your favourite coffee shop!

  1. Cuddle with your significant other.

You may not notice it, but these simple acts of affection actually affect your mood for the day as well. And this is not some cheesy advice; it is actually science. When you cuddle, your body releases what is called the oxytocin which is the feel-good or happy hormone. Basically, it increases your overall satisfaction and happiness.

It also produces endorphins which are the same chemicals we produce when we eat chocolate or exercise; this chemical is also responsible for keeping us happy and up and about. Studies show that cuddling also decreases stress and helps normalize your blood pressure. So go ahead – start the morning happily by cuddling with your partner!

  1. Drink water.

The magic number is 16 oz. If you drink at least this amount, you are guaranteed to have a faster metabolism (up to 24% faster for over an hour and a half), healthier system free of toxins, and lose some weight. This should also be common sense; your body is naturally dehydrated after 7-10 hours of not drinking water.

While you may not feel thirsty, you probably really are; so do yourself a favour and drink up once you wake up. This is an effective weight loss strategy, as well as people who drink water before taking their meals, are most likely going to eat less. This happens because drinking water induces the feeling of being full while being free of calories.

Water also helps keep us awake and active. Other than flushing out the toxins out of your body, it also helps ease stress, fatigue, sleepiness, lightheadedness, and mood swings. All these good things just by drinking water once you wake up!

  1. Take your morning dose of coffee/tea.

It is not unusual to hear from someone that it is hard for them to function without their daily dose of caffeine in the morning. While too much of either tea or coffee would be detrimental than helpful, we cannot deny that they also have benefits when taken moderately.

Other than the things coffee is known for – such as making our minds more alert and focused,  – certain studies also show that drinking coffee reduces chances of Alzheimer’s, dementia, and type 2 diabetes. Like tea, it is also a good antioxidant.

On the other hand, tea contains cancer-fighting agents. It is also therapeutic which is relaxing and soothing to the senses and the mind. It would affect your productivity and overall happiness positively to start your day with such a healthy habit.

     6. Exercise for half an hour.

We all already know that exercising helps keep us fit and healthy. If you want to lose some weight or to maintain your current weight, it is not enough to just watch your eating. Exercising in the morning is a good habit to start, especially for those who find it difficult to spare some time for working out. It does not even have to be a rigorous workout plan; going for a job then lifting some weights can do the job.

Exercising makes your metabolism faster, and doing it in the morning means your metabolism rates are up throughout the day. On top of that, like cuddling, exercises also produce the chemicals endorphins which induce happiness and feeling good in general.
