Who knows what women want better than a woman? This is particularly true when it comes to clothes and fashion. Check out these 4 women-led online stores and see the difference for yourself!

1. Love, Bonito

Love, Bonito started out in 2006 as a ‘passion project’ for a couple of 18-year-old girls. Initially, it was just a flair for fashion and earning some pocket money that drove the pair. Ten years and many sold out fashion cycles later, Love, Bonito calls itself a ‘community’ that thrives on the support and encouragement of so many of its customers.

Today, you can browse through its online racks for all things fashionable and trendy – dresses, tops, bottoms, one-piece, swimwear, outerwear, shoes, and even accessories. There are occasional pop-up stores in town as well. Check out the Midi Jumpsuits at S$45.90 and the S$33.90 Teali Flutter Sleeve Toga Top.

Shopping tip: Shopping with your Citi Rewards Card or OCBC Titanium Rewards Card will give you 10x points or an equivalent of 4 miles on your retail spends.

2. MDS

Another venture with a sweet story starring a couple of schoolmates, MDS was started online in 2006 by Georgiana Yeo and Joe Phua. Today it is one of the largest fully-owned online and retail fashion names in Singapore. The project is independently financed and managed and has expanded beyond its online presence to open 12 retail outlets across Singapore. Of late, stores have opened in 5 south-east Asian countries as well.

The online store keeps you on your toes with its regular updates and additions to its range of clothes and accessories that are conveniently marked at high street prices. Go to the bestseller section and check out the Mondello Dress at S$52.90 or the super trendy off shoulder Sheba Top for S$41.90.

Shopping tip: The Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card gives you 7% on your online purchases. You can read our review of the card here.

3. Collate The Label

Founded by local girl Velda Tan, Collate The Label is her second venture, the first one being Love, Bonito that she co-founded. Having figured out the formula that works, she went on to sharpen her skills at a professional design school and then launched the second brand with a more refined design base.

Thoughtful, edgy and exciting, the range at Collate is for the discerning woman with an eye for detail and finesse. Most of the designs are contemporary yet classic, with clean lines that exude effortless style. The Cape Jumpsuit at S$249 and a funky Peplum Flounce Skirt at S$169 are some of the styles that we loved.

Shopping tip: Use the DBS Women’s World Mastercard Card for 10X DBS points on online purchases. Note that the additional 9X bonus points are only applicable to the first S$2,000 of the calendar month.

4. Klarra

Another project that required complete faith in oneself and lots of grit, Klarra is the baby of Beatrice Tan, who earlier worked in the banking industry. She chose to leave her day job, blog full time, and then launch her own brand.

A hit with working women, Klarra’s range is a ‘timeless classic’ – cut beautifully and stitched up with modern techniques. The clean silhouettes made out of great fabric can be used as work wear, worn to a casual brunch, or even when stepping out to run errands. The Batwing Sleeve Dress for S$95 is very deftly done, and so is the Bell Sleeve Shift Dress for S$89.

Shopping tip: If you prefer cash back to points, use the ANZ Optimum Card and select your desired category as shopping for 5% cashback. With this card, there’s no limit to the amount of total cash rebate you can earn!
