Anna Haotanto’s Full Bio

Anna Haotanto is the CEO of The New Savvy. Anna is the President of the Singapore Management University Women Alumni. She is part of the founding committee of the Singapore FinTech Association and heads the Women In FinTech and Partnership committee.

She is passionate about finance, education, women empowerment and children’s issues.

Anna’s story is featured on Millionaire Minds on Channel NewsAsia. She is the host for Channel NewsAsia for Challenge Tomorrow, a FinTech documentary.

Anna was awarded “Her Times Youth Award” at the Rising50 Women Empowerment Gala, organised by the Indonesian Embassy of Singapore. The award was presented by His Excellency Ngurah Swajaya. She is part of LinkedIn Power Profiles 2017 for founders. She was nominated and selected for FORTUNE Most Powerful Women conference in 2017, 2016 (Asia) and 2015 (San Francisco, Next Gen).

Anna raised a six-figure funding for The New Savvy within 1.5 years of operation. Previously, she has 10 years of experience in the financial sector. She was a Director at Tera Capital – a private investment firm with investments in China, Singapore and the United States. Her previous work experience includes positions at Citigroup, United Overseas Bank, a regional role in Business Monitor and a boutique private equity firm based in Shanghai.

Anna is proficient in managing assets and providing advice to high net worth clients. Among the numerous awards Anna had received, she was the Top Offshore Senior Client Advisor for 2 years running, within just 3 years of entering the industry.

She graduated from Singapore Management University (Finance and Quantitative Finance).

Anna provides wealth management consultancy for selected clients and conducts workshops on personal finance. She regularly teaches and mentors children and adults on financial prudence and investments, facilitating their ability to be better informed when making financial decisions. Anna gives talks for organisations and is involved in various charities supporting women and children causes.

Anna seeks meaning in focusing her entrepreneurial career on financial literacy as she firmly believes that continuous learning empowers people.

Carolyn is the Chief Operating Officer of The New Savvy.
She has 37 years of experience ranging from corporates, small to medium enterprises and start-ups. A consummate professional, Carolyn was critical in growing the company by 3500%, increasing the revenue from US$10 million to US$350 million in 12 years.

Carolyn has an extensive history of company and people management. She is adept in finance matters, office administration, and production solutions. She is knowledgeable in handling overseas and local management, operations, finance, and trade facilities of the company.

Carolyn is experienced at running large scale events. She was vital to the success of “The Future is Female” conference with over 250 participants. She also handles partnerships and special projects. She is skilled in IT system and tech knowledge.
Carolyn was awarded an advanced certification in Letter Of Credit.  Carolyn has also a certification in SEO & SEM: Fundamentals to Internet Marketing.

She graduated from Marymount Convent School and was on the Alumni association until 2011.
Carolyn is an active volunteer for several charities and is looking to contribute to meaningful projects. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys cooking and feeding people as she believes that food is the source of joy!

Natalie is the Hong Kong Chief Ambassador of The New Savvy.

She relocated to Hong Kong from London in 2015 to establish the International division of a rapidly expanding Real Estate company which perfectly combined her interests in property, investment and growing new businesses.

With a degree in Law and a love for public speaking, she has always been focused on developing her knowledge and understanding of business as well as supporting and empowering those around her to push the boundaries of their capabilities and to become their best selves.

She believes very strongly in the importance of women being financially independent and having the resources to make informed decisions both personally and professionally. She consistently strives to support women both within her company and those that she encounters whilst attending entrepreneurial events in Hong Kong.

Whilst incredibly dedicated to providing an excellent service to her clients in the property industry, Natalie is careful to make time to get to the gym, train with her Dragon Boat team and can always be found with at least one motivational book on the go.

Priscilla is the Malaysia Chief Ambassador of The New Savvy.

Priscilla has 7 years of financial industry experience in both Malaysia and Singapore. She is adept at wealth management and relationship building.

After 2.5 years working in Singapore banks, Priscilla decides to move back to Malaysia and pursue her passions. She is the current CEO of FatBerry, Malaysia’s first Online General Insurance Marketplace. She also founded Story & Matter, an event planning company focusing on wedding styling. Priscilla graduated from a Malaysia University with a degree in Mass Communications, majoring in Public Relations.

Priscilla believes in constantly pushing herself and creating realistic plans. To her, work should be a passion, not just a means to an end. Hence, Priscilla believes that every woman needs to have the fundamental financial knowledge to be financially independent.

Priscilla practises yoga as it helps her to think clearer and make better decisions.

Beatrix Mercado, Philippines Ambassador The New SavvyBeatrix Mercado, Philippines Chief Ambassador

Beatrix is the founder of a start-up, Project Fit PH, which focuses on improving health & wellness. She is a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian and a product developer. She worked as a professor for 4 years and eventually pursued entrepreneurship full time.

She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics under full scholarship grant, and she has a Master’s Degree in Food Science. Amidst her academic involvement, she believes in maximising her potential, as she also engaged herself in politics and theatre performance while selling various products as her side hustle.

She also currently invests in real estate and stocks.
Beatrix has been featured on media platforms such as the ANC channel, iJuander GMA News TV and FH&S Magazine. She also actively participates in speaking engagements in various schools and private companies.

Beatrix firmly believes that the Philippines can grow and advance more through financial literacy and women empowerment; she also believes in maximising one’s potential because it does not only bring financial growth but it adds value to others and the community too.

Beatrix makes sure she does not miss her morning workout, meditation and business book reading; this gives her peace, wisdom and energy throughout the day. With her free time, she usually bakes or studies Spanish.
